Domkhar Lhakhang was built by Serkhong Truelku during the 18th century and it is said that the lhakhang is the residing place for the Trulku. Domkhar Tshechu is a 3 days festival, which includes chams and dances which are performed by the local people of Domkhar village. The chams include mainly the Peling Chams (composition of Terton Pema Lingpa). On the last day of the festival, the lhakhang displays large thongdrols to bless the people of Domkhar village.
Dhokhar Tshechu was initiated by Serkhong Truelku during the 18th century.
Domkhar Tsechu which is 3-day festival has a significant and unique Peling musk dances. The musk dance called Nga-Ging appears just before lunch break in the third day sees from the start till the end is a bumptious performance.
Programme
Mewang ceremony (Fire Blessing) is performed in an open ground. Prior to the 1st day.
- Day One - Shinji, Jugging, Deging, Zhanag Phurchham, Durthreth Dagmo, Delchham, Ajophento.
- Day Two - Shazam, Dramedtse Ngachham, Tshogling, Tsheging, Ajophento and Pholek Molek.
- Day Three - Zhamdrung Thongdroel, Chhungzam, Ngaging, Zhanag Ngachham, Ragsha Mangchham and Zhamdrung Tenwang.
